The request of Mrs. Robert Hambleton, 213 North Main, to have her son, a kindergarten student, transferred from the Tonkawa school district to Union 61 northwest of the city was denied by the Tonkawa board of education at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night in the superintendent’s office. The board voted 3-0 to deny the request after hearing Mrs. Hambleton’s presentation. Our board member, John Kuchera, abstained from voting because his wife is the kindergarten teacher at Union 61 and he said he had a divided interest in the matter.
