Two more teacher resignations were accepted at a special meeting of the Tonkawa Board of Edudation Thursday, March 9.Connie Shreck, a 45-year classroom veteran, and Camille Diedrich, a fourth grade math teacher, submitted letters to the board.Their letters follow Camille Diedrich wrote: “I, Carmille Diedrich, will not be filling the fourth grade math teacher position next year.”Connie Shreck wrote: “Please accept this letter as my official resignation from my position as fulltime Technology Coordinator at Tonkawa Public Schools. My final day of employment will be May 19, 2023. after much contemplation, I have made the decision that after 45 years in this teaching profession it is time to slow down a little and focus more of my attention on my family’s needs at home.“My experience as an educator has been insightful, challenging and fulfilling, and working with the Tonkawa students has brougtht me great joy. It has been as much a pleasure to learn from them as it has been to teach them. Thank you for the opportunity to invest in the lives of children through learning and technology. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and appreciate the opportunities that this school has provided me as well as the professional guidance and support that has allowed me to grow within this role. I am grateful to have been a part of this team and will carry the many lessons I learned with me as I move onto new challenges and opportunities.“I hope all the best for Tonkawa’s students, teachers and administration. thank you again for your support and leadership during my time here. It has been a sincere pleasure working with you.
