Rhonda Stephens, Kay County Treasurer, would like to remind tax payers that the 2nd half of their taxes is due before April 1st and that paying online with eCheck is fee free at kaycounty.org.As many of you know, we are now in our new office in the Kay County Administration Building. The address is 219 S Main, Newkirk, just south of the courthouse. We are excited to serve our taxpayers in our new surroundings.“It is very easy for folks to get the different tax deadlines confused this time of year. Paying second half property or personal taxes by March 31st can save a taxpayer from a delinquent tax penalty”, Rhonda Stephens said.Taxpayers should mail their second half payment with the middle portion of their original tax statement. Two envelopes and a note providing information on this process was mailed with the original statements in November. Stephens would also like to remind everyone that the Kay County Treasurer’s office has the option for taxpayers to make a tax payment on-line, again with eCheck being a fee free option. You may use your credit or debit card by paying an additional fee from the card processing company. Again, on-line service is provided through kaycounty.org.The treasurer would like to encourage anyone with questions concerning tax billings, payments or delinquent taxes to contact her or a member of her staff. The treasurer’s office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 12:00 and 12:30 to 4:30. The treasurer’s office phone number is 580362-2523.
