Members of the First United Methodist Church in Tonkawa (pictured L to R: Nevona Bossert, Meredith Williamson, Beverly Smith, Debbie Randall, Nancy Appleman, and Norma Young) are preparing the “Kids Corner” for the annual Thrift Sale. Donations of items are accumulating quickly, and things are getting organized for one of our best sales ever. This sale, which began in 1985, has continued for 39 years and counting. With the generous donations of treasures by church members and community individuals, our sale has grown year after year. Proceeds from this sale go to support many mission projects locally including the Tonkawa Food Bank and Stamp Out Starvation as well as maintenance of the church. The dates for the Thrift Sale this year are Friday, April 5th from 7am-7pm, and Saturday, April 6th from 7am-1pm. In addition, our kitchen is open for business serving local favorites during these same hours. The Tonkawa First United Methodist Church is located at 410 E. Grand Street.
