Thank you to all who attended the Memorial Day (formerly known as Decoration Day) Ceremony at the Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery. A meaningful service was organized by the Tonkawa American Legion Post and the VFW. A Color Guard posted the Colors followed by the Firing Squad. Prayer was offered and a short talk was given. Wreaths were placed by the American Legion, VFW, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Daughters of the American
Revolution. Taps concluded the program. Thank you to the men who took the time to put the program together.
Wreaths are placed to honor the men and women who have made the supreme sacrifice for their country. Our deepest respect goes to the families who have lost a loved one to war.
Next year allow 20 minutes to attend the Memorial Day Service.
It is the least that can be done to honor those who have helped protect our country. You will be pleased that you made the effort.
