Filing will be Dec. 7-9 for office one on the Tonkawa Board of Education, it was announced at Monday night’s meeting of the school board.
Office one, currently held by Mary Allan, will be vacant.
Filing will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kay County Election Board at the County Courthouse in Newkirk Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 7-9.
In other action, board members Cara Beth Johnson, Casey McAninch, Jerry Hook and Nancy Appleman (Mary Allan was absent):
-- Approved expenses totalling $379,125.13 with $75,517 from the general fund, $50 from fund 22 and $303,558.13 from bond fund 34.
-- Approved the resident teacher committee which includes Reagann Murphy by Kaitlyn Anderson, Kelly Martin and Terri Guthrie.
-- Approved the annual dropout report. Superintendent Lori Simpson said Tonkawa schools had one dropout last school year.
