Three new hires were approved Monday night at the regular monthly meeting of the Tonkawa Board of Education.Board members present included Brian Bowling, Tyler Langston, Casey McAninch and Melanie Bellinghausen. Jerry Hook was absent.The hirings included Kay Gomez as a substitute teacher, Terri Hawk and Shyla Urban as para-professionals.They were recommended by Superintendent Lori Simpson and approved by the board unanimously.In other action, the board: -- Approved general fund encumbrances totalling $99,487.12; and building fund purchases totalling $9,693.17.-- Approved a bill from Renaissance Architecture LLC for $4,141.06 on the cafeteria project.-- Approved a bill from Joe D.
