Four have filed for the office of District 3 Kay County Commissioner, which serves the Tonkawa and Blackwell areas, according to filings at the Kay County Election Board last week. All are Republicans.They include:-- Kent Field, 829 South First, Blackwell.-- Paul Butch Skidmore, 862 Saralyn Drive, Blackwell.-- John A. Wilson, 221 W. McKinley, Blackwell, incumbent-- Joe M. Allbaugh, 1406 Dana Drive, Blackwell.Three other candidates were unopposed.They include:-- Rhonda Stephens, Republican for County Treasurer, 5400 E. Gate Rd., Newkirk.-- Janell Leaming, Republican for County Assessor , 3500 East River Rd., Newkirk.-- Shane Jones, Republican for District 1 County Commissioner, 4955 Fairway Lane, Ponca City.The filing period closed at 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2022.The primary election will be June 28 county wide. Early voting will be June 23-25 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.Runoff election will be Tuesday, Aug. 23.
