A Graveside Ceremony, with Military Honors, took place at the IOOF Cemetery, Tonkawa, at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday,August 25 ,2020, with Rev. Tom Howard offici ating. Viewing was from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00p.m., Monday, August 24, 2020 at Trout Funeral Home in Tonkawa. On Saturday August 1, 2020, Lonnie M. Bray Sr, loving husband, father, grandfather, greatgrandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away at the age of 89. Lonnie had a long battle with heart disease, but lived life to the fullest, loving the Lord, his family, his friends, and his country every step of the way.

Celebration of life services for Joan Dorothy Rector, 51, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma was held on Friday July 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Christian Life Church in Tonkawa. Pastor Josh Reese will be officiating. Arrangements are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Afterwards, per Joans request, there will be a garden party at Joan and David’s residence.

Edward Lee “Speck” Mckinnis, lifelong Tonkawa resident, died on Friday, July 10, 2020. He was 96. A celebration of Speck’s life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 in the Chapel of Trout Funeral home of Tonkawa. Military honors will be presented by the United States Navy with burial following in the Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery. Pastor Joshua Reese of Christian Life Church will officiate. The grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Viewing will be available at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Bruce Robinson, Saturday, July 11th at 2:00 p.m. at the Tonkawa Event Center, west of the football field. This is a big event center and there will be plenty of room for social distancing. Masks are not mandatory, but welcome and appreciated. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Tonkawa Alumni Association for scholarships or other areas designated in Bruce Robinson’s name at the Tonkawa High School. Memorial Contributions in Bruce Robinson’s name can also be made to the Christian Life Church, or Mexico Multiple Missions and Doug Montegue, both through the Tonkawa Christian Life Church. Services are under the direction of Roberts and Son Funeral Home.

Billy “Bill” W. Huff of Blackwell, OK died July 2, 2020 at the age of 60, two years after diagnosed with ALS. The eleventh of twelve children, Bill was born on April 11, 1960 at Riverside Hospital in Blackwell to Robert and Ruby (Wood) Huff.

VENUS LYNN ZAVISKI

Venus Lynn Zaviski, former resident of Blackwell, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in Porter, Oklahoma. She was 76 years old. Venus was born on December 20, 1943 in Depew, Oklahoma to her parents, Venis and Gladys Hall. She grew up in the Tonkawa area attending Tonkawa schools. Venus worked in various retail jobs. She loved to garden and tend to her house plants.
