William Henry Stephan

(age 88) was born to August Jacob Stephan and Clara Marie Stoehr Stephan on August 31, 1934 in Boise, ID and peacefully passed away December 24, 2022 at his home in rural Lamont, OK after a brief illness with cancer. He lived almost all of his life in Boise, Idaho, graduating from Boise High School in 1953. He recieved B.A. degrees in PublicAdministration and Computer Programing from Boise State University in the 1970’s. As a young man he had a strong interest in music and played the violin. He enjoyed baking including bread making He joined the Army National Guard in Boise stationed at Gowen Field where he served for 42 years and attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was employed as an air traffic controller working with the helicopter division for most of his career. After retiring from the National Guard he worked several years as a kitchen supervisor for Idaho Department of Corrections. His first wife was Phyllis Croft with whom he had four children. He later married Constance Kibler with whom he had 3 children. She passed away in 1992. He later married Donna Watts. At the age of 86 he and his wife Donna moved to rural Lamont, Oklahoma where they purchased a farm. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, wife Constance Kibler, daughterin- law Stephanie Stephan, and son-in-law Shannon Work. Survivors include his wife Donna Stephan, his children Karl Stephan, Barbara Klein, Janette Work, Kim (Valerie)Stephan, Valerie Stephan, Garth Stephan, William (Nancy) Stephan, and stepsons David (Cheryl) Watts and Mark (Judy) Watts, and 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren A memorial service with military honors was held January 7th 2023.
