Kyle Owen

Kyle Owen: the man, the myth, the legend. The man who laughed at his own jokes before the punchline. The myth that the devil could ever dampen his faith. The legend of perseverance and fearlessness that will live on and on.

Kyle was the kind of friend who allowed his friends to pee on his leg to alleviate the sting of a jellyfish. The kind of brother who got so fed up with being picked on that he chased his older brother outside with an aluminum baseball bat, wearing nothing but his socks, calling Jeremy his favorite nickname: Fat-boy. The kind of son who introduced his mother to anyone new with a smile saying, “This is my mom. She’s Gaye”. The kind of father who handled blowouts by using scissors to cut the clothes off. The kind of husband who was always the life of the party, wore a smile on his face daily, and had the superior capability of keeping his passionate wife calm and grounded.

Of all of his roles, the one that defined Kyle most was being a faithful child of God. More than seven years ago, no one would have blamed him for feeling defeated. Instead, with God’s help, he rose up and stood firm in his faith declaring God as his King adopting the motto “FAITH not Fear”.

Kyle was proud to be a Tonkawa Buccaneer. He had many fond childhood memories with his lifelong friends playing football, playing video games and riding bikes until he would hear the sound of his mom’s whistle to come home. After high school graduation, Kyle attended Northern Oklahoma College and earned his associate’s degree. He then went on to the University of Central Oklahoma earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business. Following a fun and extended college education, Kyle returned to Tonkawa and the family business, Owen Auto Supply. He loved working along side his parents serving the Tonkawa community and eventually sharing ownership in 2010. The business was his heart and soul that he gave 110% to every day.

On June 4, 2011, Kyle married the love of his life Michelle Klufa. They were blessed with two daughters: Lynnlea born in 2014 and Ella born in 2016. Kyle excelled in the role of girl dad embracing glittery lip-gloss and too much cheap perfume, attending dance recitals, and taking advantage of the chances to help coach a team.

He was an active member at Christian Life Church where he was a Deacon and served on various boards and committees. One of the projects he was especially passionate about was the church building fund. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kyle Owen Memorial at https:// tonkawaclc.com or text “give (amount)” to 580-440-0442.

On Friday, July 2nd, Kyle was able to see Jesus face to face. We will share his memories, laugh at his stories, and miss him greatly until we see him again. #FAITHnotFear
