Tonkawa city councilmen have approved the new contract with Tonkawa Development Authority.
It is unchanged from a year ago and provides a city payment of $1,941.67 per month or a total of $23,371.32.
The approval came at the Tuesday, July 21, meeting of the mayor and council.
Mayor Ken Smith, Vice Mayor Glenn Cope and Councilmen Scott Klufa, Jack Evans and Stacy Burns:
-- Approved ordinance 2020-07-01 concerning youth access to tobacco and vapor products. The entire ordinance is published on page five of today’s issue.
-- Approved a Cable Onc, Inc. dba Sparklight permit agreement contingent upon their approval.
-- Approved a cash farm lease on the land purchased by the city west of town. The 120 acres will be cash rented for $4,081.20 by Taylor Hembree.
-- Took no action on the swimming pool location and design. Instead, the mayor and council decided to have a public forum on the issue to be announced at a later date, depending on when the city can get the Event Center.
-- Approved an invoice from Cardinal Engineering for $7,919.75 for the Tonkawa wells, standpipe and survey.
-- Approved an invoice from solomon Corporation for $16,000 for a 500 KVA transformer padmount and 3-137 KVA transformer polemounts.
-- Approved an invoice of $14,000 for Gpsing of the city of Tonkawa’s manholes, fire hydrants, water valves and correcting GPS data for the Geodatabase to Northern Oklahoma Development authority.
-- Approved the financial report as presented. The city has $8,261,067 in total cash with $2,544,818 unrestricted and $5,716,249 restricted.
