The County Health Department is asking that everyone continue to follow these simple tips to protect yourself and those around you during the COVID-19 pandemic:

COVID-19 testing for teachers

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH), in partnership with the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE), has developed a plan as directed by Governor Kevin Stitt in Executive Order 2020-20 (Third Amended) that will provide for the optional monthly COVID-19 testing of Oklahoma teachers and support employees.

Tonkawa city councilmen approved several items at their Aug. 18 meeting.

The McCarter Museum is open from 1-3 p.m. each Thursday, 4-6 Friday.. Other times for tours or visiting may be made by calling (580) 761-7576 or any of the numbers listed on the door. Visitors are always welcome.

Helping veterans...

Hayes Brothers Band to perform at Full Moon Concert Wednesday, September 2

The “Hayes Brothers Band” will take the stage at the free outdoor Full Moon Concert, Wednesday, September 2 in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand in Tonkawa. The group performs music from the 1950’s through today including well-known pop, rock and country classics that are audience favorites. Band members are Clark Hayes on guitar and lead vocals, Kent Hayes on drums and lead vocals, Keke Johnson on Hammond organ and guitar, Stan Villines on bass, Steve Scott on keyboards, Jace Sober on guitar, and Eddie Holick on violin/fiddle and guitar.
