Northern Oklahoma College athletics named Kareem Williams and Sofie Joergensen Student Athletes of the Week for Oct. 7.
Williams is a freshman from Kington, Jamaica while Joergensen is a freshman from Denmark.
“Over the last three games, Sofie (Joergensen) has been putting in a massive shift for us,” said coach Jade Ovendale. “Her defensive work has been excellent and her composure on the ball has been good. She picked up two assists against Rose State on Sunday and scored a great goal against Rich Mountain last Thursday.”
Williams scored a goal in the Mavs 1-1 tie against Rich Mountain College.
“Kareem has had a good year for us at centerback,” said men’s coach Michael Duroy. “We have had to move him to forward to try to generate some offense and he came through for us with a big goal.”
