Many of us, whether having grown up in Tonkawa or relatively new, have no doubt been inspired by the many men and woman of faith that have blessed our Community through the years. Sunday school teachers , youth directors, choir directors, children’s church, VBS, church camp, and other ministries. Tonkawa High School has had an inspiring amount of Alums and men and woman connected to our school involved in the ministry.2012 Grad Pastor Josh Reese and his wife 2014 Grad Ciara have been at Christian Life since they were in high school with Josh becoming Pastor in August of 2015. Ciara heads the Music Dept. 2012 Graduate Caleb Reese and his wife Deborah, also a Tonkawa grad, serve as pastors in Cherokee Oklahoma. Another Reese brother and 2013 grad Nehemiah and his wife Brenna are missionaries in India! Branden and Omega (Reese) Winner work year round at Eagle Sky Christian Camp in Missouri. As if that isn’t enough service big brother Regan Reese leads a boys Bible study. Next family!Reverend Drew Kirtley 2005 Buc graduate fell in love with the outdoor ministry while a young camper in 1995 at Central Oklahoma Christian Camp, many of his early camp experiences with long time camp directors Jane Weeks and Tonkawa’s own Charles Conaghan. Kirtley served years as a camp counselor and serving in other areas before becoming an ordained minister in 2016. Reverend Kirtley along with his wife Megan and 3 daughters at First Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Alva Oklahoma. Drew’s sister Ali Dice yet another Tonkawa grad serves as Special Ed Director and has three daughters with Husband Kale. You may remember Pastor Drew’s Grandpa Clane Kirtley not a Tonkawa grad but Buccaneer coach 1958-1960.My apologies for not being able to mention all our beloved grads involved in ministry. I am going to mention pastor Jerry Hook and his wife Christi along with pastor Terry Ballard and wife Kathy. Jerry and Christi, Terry and Kathy have taught and served our young Bucs in multiple areas!Got to throw in sports. The number of the above mentioned that are State Champions, State qualifiers, All Staters, is staggering. What treasures they all are!Part four in a series running through Homecoming week.
