Junior tailback Roman Chandler only got 18 carries Friday night at Blackwell. But that was more than enough. The speedy back ran for 262 yards and three touchdowns to help secure Tonkawa’s eighth straight win over the Maroons 32-6.But it wasn’t as easy as it looked.Every time Tonkawa did something good, there was dirty yellow laundry on the field. The Bucs were flagged 11 times for 120 yards. It was the defense that kept the Bucs in this one.Linebackers Noah Campbell and Luke Shepherd had 21 and 14 tackles respectively and were in on eight tackles behind the line of scrimmage.Campbell knocked the ball loose from a Maroon runner that Jake Morgan recovered. Shepherd picked off a Blackwell pass running it all the way back for a touchdown. The Bucs left little doubt early on who was the better team, if they could just overcome the penalties and turnovers.Chandler scored from 43 yards out on the first play from scrimmage for the Bucs, after Tonkawa defenders stuffed the Maroons on a fourth and one play. But after holding off the Maroons once again, Tonkawa fumbled for the first time near midfield.Six plays later, Blackwell scored on a 33 yard run by Kruz Goff.
