Tonkawa varsity baseball is off to a fast 2-0 start for the 2020 season.
The Bucs beat Newkirk 3-2 last week and were to face Perry there Tuesday night.
This Friday, Tonkawa returns to Perry for a doubleheader — 4 p.m. vs. Perry and 6 p.m. vs. Valliant, both games at Perry.
In the Newkirk win, Jake Randall and Blake Scott each had RBI’s. Dylan Hamilton and Kai Day got the lone hits of the evening, both singles.
C.J. Ballard and Jake Randall each stole bases. Randall had two.
Dylan Hamilton pitched the first four innings, striking out three. Parker Miller pitched two innings, striking out five. Scott pitched the final inning, striking out two.
