JuDITH ANN (MOSeS) FINTON

Judith Ann (Moses) Finton, long time resident of Tonkawa, passed away peacefully in Stillwater, OK on Saturday, April 9, 2022. She was 82 years old.

Judith was born August 14, 1939 to Melvin and Dellazine (Anderson) Moses in Oklahoma City. She grew up in OKC and graduated from Capitol Hill High School. She went on to further her education at Oklahoma Baptist University and got her Bachelor’s degree in 1961. In 1987, she got a degree in Elementary Education from Missouri Southern State College and obtained her teaching certificate. In May of 1993, she got her Master’s degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. She taught K-12 special education and was also the librarian at NOC. After 35 years of teaching, she officially retired.

She had many hobbies and interests, but her favorite thing to do was be a mother to her two boys, Richard Brady and Patrick Zane. She had a passion for teaching and caring for children. Judith loved spending time with her grandchildren as well. When she wasn’t too busy, she made sure to fill her time with traveling the world. Judith had visited every continent except Antarctica. When she was home, she enjoyed sewing, solving puzzles, fixing things, cooking casseroles, and visiting flea markets and thrift stores.

Judith will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dellazine Moses.

She is survived by her sons Richard Brady Finton and wife Jennifer of Bixby, OK, and Patrick Zane Finton and wife Becky of Stillwater, OK; brother Merle Moses of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Kaden Finton and wife Haley, Kailee Finton, Bradon Finton, Kinzie Finton, Zoey Finton, Samuel Finton, Kailey Fenscke, Bailey Aldridge, Demi Aldridge, and Ellie Aldridge; and greatgrandchildren Myla Jordan and Oakley Finton.

Her graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa, OK with Dr. Glenn Cope officiating. Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Tonkawa, 505 Thunderbird Rd, Tonkawa, OK 74653.
