Christopher James Blackwell, 38, died February 25, 2019 in Peyton, Colorado.

A celebration of Christopher’s life will be held at 10:00am Friday, September 6, 2019 with Pastor Tom Howard in the Chapel at the Trout Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Tonkawa. Following the ceremony, Christopher will be laid to rest at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Tonkawa.

He was born September 6, 1980 at Fort Polk Army Hospital, Leesville, Louisiana to Edward Talbot and Adelgunde “Gundel” Anna (Buettner) Blackwell.

Christopher grew up in a military family and lived in Lees-ville, Louisiana; Seoul, South Korea; and Worms, Germany.

He moved to Laurel, Maryland where his dad retired and then they moved to Manassas, Virginia to finish high school.

He entered the Army in 2002. He married his beloved, Corina, while home on R&R in 2004. He separated from the Army after three tours to Iraq and a total of eight years of service.

Christopher’s recent job was a Spray Foam Specialist for the last five years.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Nellie and Leland Blackwell; and his first pit bull, Sly.

Christopher is survived by his wife, Corina Blackwell; his parents, Ed and Gundel Blackwell; sister, Sandra (Jason) Huff; brother, Alexander (Jamie) Blackwell; foster brother, Mark Klinedinst; father-in-law, Rudolph Herrmann; father in-law and mother-in-law, Gunter and Marion Guegel; brother-in-laws, Thomas Herrmann and Udo Herrmann; sister-in-laws, Julia Huebner and Katharina Guegel; and his two pit bull dogs, Cypher and Cale.
