The Pride of Tonkawa is a little more proud this week. Tonkawa Public Schools purchased a utility trailer for the band to transport instruments and uniforms to football games and competitions. Band director Chris Reeder had the band logo designed earlier in his career at TPS. The decal was created and applied by Legacy Signs of Ponca City. The Tonkawa Band Boosters funded the decal. The purchase serves more than one purpose. It relieves the close proximity of students on the bus which helps meet covid-19 protocols for social distancing. In addition, it provides the capability to haul more equipment which improves the quality of performances. Mr. Reeder announced a list of competitions the band will participate in this fall. Destinations include Pauls Valley, Elgin, Lawton,Holdenville, Enid, and the OSSAA District Contest (Location TBA). The Pride of Tonkawa Band performs the contest routine at half-time of all home football games. You are invite to come not only to cheer on the Bucs, but to support the band.
