Legislative breakfast Friday
The Chamber of Commerce Legislative Breakfast wll be Friday, April 23, at 7:30 a.m. It will be at the First National Bank of Oklahoma Heritage Room. Donuts and coffee will be served.
Chamber award event tonight
On Thursday, April 22, 2021, 6-8 p.m., the Chamber will host an outdoor event called the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce Awards Social. This event will be held at the Tonkawa Hotel/ Casino, located at 16601 W. South Avenue, Tonkawa, Oklahoma, 6-8 p.m. The menu will be heavy hors d’oeuvres including dessert and a cash bar will be available. The awards part of the evening is at 7:00 p.m. under the tent. Dress is casual as we encourage a fun evening of fellowship.
On that date the chamber will recognize up to five award winners, as follows: EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR, Lori Muegge – Mary’s Grill; CITIZEN OF THE YEAR Judy McAninch; LIFETIME SERVICE, Calvin Crumrine; TONKAWA PRIDE, Kyle & Lori Simpson; BUSINESS OF THE YEAR, Venture Foods
Tickets are $25.00 each and may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce office, 102 E. Grand Ave. If you would like your tickets mailed to you, please call 580-628-2220. Checks should be made payable to Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce. Please have your tickets purchased by 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 to ensure availability of tickets for you and your guests. We hope you will be able to join us for an evening of socially distanced fun.
Methodists re-schedule thrift sale
The First United Methodist Church in Tonkawa has officially rescheduled its Thrift Sale for Friday, June 4th and Saturday, June 5th. So start saving your pennies and put the date on your calendar. More info will come as the date approaches. Donations of furniture are being accepted at this time. Please contact Meredith Williamson at 580-716-2141 for item pick up.
Ministerial Alliance needs your help
For decades the Tonkawa Ministerial Alliance has been able to serve those in need with utilities, groceries and emergency travel and lodging. However, due to COVID restrictions, the group was unable to have its two annual Easter and Thanksgiving fundraisers in 2020 and its funds are running out. With the recent freeze, utility bills will be higher and at the present moment, the alliance will be unable to help Consider helping serve this community by donating to the Tonkawa Ministerial Alliance.
