The State Exchange Bank of Lamont, Oklahoma cordially invites the public, friends, family, and business associates to a retirement reception for President Dennis Skaggs. The reception will be held on Friday, July 19 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at The State Exchange Bank, 1280 Main Street, Lamont, Oklahoma.
Dennis M. Skaggs began his banking career in 1971 after receiving a B.S. degree in Agriculture from Oklahoma State University. He was a loan officer and inspector with the Farm Credit System before joining The State Exchange Bank on December 1, 1973. Dennis served as Assistant Cashier for two years and Cashier for 10 years. In 1985, he held the office of Vice President and Cashier for three years before being named Vice President and Loan Officer in 1988. Since that time, Dennis was Vice President for 14 years, Executive Vice President for eight years, and he has been President since June, 2010. He has been a member of Board of Directors since January, 1975 and will remain active in that capacity after retirement.
Dennis has served on the Northwest Oklahoma Bankers Association Board of Directors for eight years as well as President for one term. He is currently serving as the Lamont Housing Authority President, Vice Chairman and member of the Finance Committee and District Trustees of the Oklahoma United Methodist Church-Northern Prairie District, and he was a long-time member of the Lamont Lions Club. He retired in April as President of the Lamont Cemetery Association after over 30 years of service.
Dennis has led with a servant spirit, always putting the concerns of the community and his customers before those of his own. His personal agriculture production background resonates with his customers, and his ability to stay the course for over 45 years of commodity boom-and-bust cycles speaks volumes about his character and commitment to the people he serves.
