The 19th annual Lucky Duck Derby was held on July 4, 2019, immediately following the downtown Tonkawa parade and bicycle contest. Over two thousand ducks floated down the canal between North Avenue and Grand Avenue. The THS Alumni Association partnered with the Tonkawa Masonic Lodge for this year’s event. Proceeds will go toward THS Senior scholarships and THS Alumni projects. The winners this year are as follows: Grand Prize winner, Duck #280, Janet McCarter, won the 65” VISIO ULTRA HD, HDRS MART LED TV donated by Gateway First Bank of Tonkawa. First place winner, Duck #500, Ben Stroh, won a $500 Prepaid VISA gift card donated by First National Bank of Oklahoma in Tonkawa. Second place winner, Duck #1301, Randy Martinez, won a $500 Prepaid VISA gift card donated by A-Line TDS. Third place winner, Duck #1526, Katy Harris, won a $450 Prepaid VISA gift card donated by an anonymous donor and O-K Bit of Tonkawa, Charley True Auto and McKenzie-Noles Insurance. Fourth place winner, Duck #315, Cheryl Nichols, won the $400 Prepaid VISA gift card donated by Equity Bank of Ponca City, Ditmore Construction, IOOF and Tonkawa Foundry. Fifth place winner, Duck #1441, Tanner Crawford, won the $220 Prepaid VISA gift card donated by Diemer Farm, Miller Electric and Encounter Wireless. Sixth place winner, Duck #678, Teresa Crawford, won a 57 piece socket set donated by Owen Auto Supply.
