BILL DON HAZELWOOD

The family of Bill Don Hazelwood would like you to join them in a celebration of life on Tuesday, May 25th at 1:00 P.M. at the First Christian Church in Lamont, officiated by Pastor Jeff McReynolds.

Bill was born on November 2, 1946, to Mildred and Bill Hazelwood in Oklahoma City and passed from this life on May 14, 2021.

Bill moved with his family to California at an early age where he attended school and ran on the cross-country team until he graduated from Magnolia High School. As a young adult he moved back to Oklahoma where he spent several years as an aircraft mechanic and later went into the bail bond business and was able to get a commercial pilot license. During his career as a bounty hunter, he had many adventures and plenty of wild stories that could have been made into movies. As Bill aged out of his adventure-filled life, he was an insurance investigator for a company in Arizona, Texas, and eventually back in Oklahoma City. He decided to go to school to become a commercial truck driver because it would allow him to travel and see as much of the United States as he could.

He was blessed with two children, his daughter, Katie and his son, Bill. In 2014 he was contacted by an adoption agency and informed that he had been blessed with another daughter, Erin. He loved his children dearly and considered them the pride of his life.

Bill married his wonderful wife Wanda (Williams) in 2014, at a church service in Lamont with close family and friends. They shared a passion for riding motorcycles, fishing and spending time together with family.

Bill is survived by his wife, Wanda (Williams) Hazelwood and his brother, Ron Hazelwood and his wife Linda of Anaheim, CA. His children, Erin May and her husband Andre of Bixby, OK, Katie Tolbert and her husband Montrell of Yukon, OK and Bill Hazelwood and his wife Marissa of Verdigris, OK. His stepchildren, Cindy Reynosa and her husband Michael of Norman, OK and Lloyd Williams and his wife Christine of Moore, OK. His grandchildren, Kiah, DeAnte, Summer, Sallie, Ashanti, Krystian and Nick. He had 4 step grandchildren and 10 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Mildred “Millie” Hazelwood and his brother Terry Hazelwood.
